Your DTF Design Didn’t Come Out As Expected? Things You Can Do To Fix It

Your DTF Design Didn’t Come Out As Expected? Things You Can Do To Fix It

After working with your DTF transfers, you may start facing some challenges. They vary from printing your own transfers to pressing others you may have bought from someone else (*wink* you can order them with us! *wink*).

To start, you need the correct equipment to manage your transfers. Make sure to have a heat press that reaches the needed temperature and high-quality materials will always have the best outcome. Setting up your machine will be a challenge as well. Remember prints tend to change tones if not set correctly or placed over different fabrics. This is the part where you will need to be patient with your work. Take your time to try and make mistakes! This is what we always recommend: experience modifying settings, fabrics, inks, powders, time pressing and everything else. You will start noticing the difference!

Now talking specifically about your DTF transfers, these are some of the things that can come up:

  1. Your DTF transfer doesn’t stick correctly over your fabric? This could happen. Sometimes adding the right adhesive or correcting curing settings will help in this case. Check details with your distributor.
  2. Your DTF prints do not transfer completely? Most of the time, this is due to the variation of temperature + pressure. Try to align these settings with the type of fabric you’re using.
  3. DTF film starts to peel off? After printing, your film could start coming off due to poor adhesion or incorrect curing. Verify the curing temperature and how much time you take to press your transfers.

These are just a few of the many challenges you could face while working your DTF transfers. If you happen to come across another, chat with us! We’re here to help. Send us a DM through @printprodtf (instagram) and we’ll do our best to help you in any way we can.
