When it comes to DTF, a new printing technique, questions need to be answered and we’re here to help the best we can.
- DTF translates to Direct To Film printing, which consists of printing on a film that presses directly into garments. When printed as gang sheets, we refer to a long sheet of film fitting as many designs as you can to print them in one go. This way you can just cut them how you like and accommodate them over the fabrics however you prefer.
- There are multiple differences between these two techniques but, in a few words, screen printing serves better for bulk orders and long-lasting designs. On the other hand, DTF will be better for you if you’re working with a very detailed design and a small order of custom items.
- Once you start working with DTF, you will find out why everyone loves this technique! Some of its benefits are:
- Anyone can use DTF transfers
- High definition prints
- Supplies are affordable
- Quick and easy printing process
- The best fabrics for DTF are cotton, polyester, nylon, treated leather, 50/50 blends, denim and more (dark and light fabrics included). You can customize shirts, hoodies, bags, hats, accessories and more!
- First, you need to evaluate if DTF gang sheets fill the needs and specific purposes of your project or business goals. Then the answer is simple: YES. DTF is the perfect tool and ally for any custom printing company.
- You will hear the contrary but the reality is that DTF doesn’t require any specific skill but to be patient, hard-working and to invest a certain amount at the beginning. Everyone can work with transfers!
- Yes, you can! You just need to find a firm spacious surface, your iron set at its highest temperature and lots of strength. Because DTF requires pressure, you will have to use your force to press over your transfers and garment for at least 10-15 seconds.
